称，中东局势发展带来的通胀走高风险可能会促使英国央行推迟3月份的降息。食品和大宗商品价格回落原本有望到4月份将整体通胀率降至2%。Wishart称，现在英国央行可能不得不等待服务价格通胀充分减速，以抵消能源价格带来的上行压力，然后才能再次降息。此外，他说，由于英国是能源净进口国，能源价格的持续上涨将扩大贸易逆差，并减少对英镑的需求。“英国央行会希望避免给该国货币带来任何会加剧通胀的额外下行压力。”
